OLATHE, Kansas (February 1, 2013) – Laurie Ovesen of Maple Valley, Washington, is starting out 2013 in a good way – by winning the 2012 Drive Green Challenge grand prize of a John Deere 1023E Sub-Compact Utility Tractor with loader and box blade from Washington Tractor in Sumner. Ovesen’s entry was selected from among thousands of entries collected during last year’s Drive Green Challenge that ended in October.

Ovesen filled out the winning entry at Washington Tractor’s Drive Green Challenge event held at the Puyallup Fair in Puyallup, Wash., last September. Ovesen, along with her partner, Dawn, happened upon the Drive Green event while attending the fair.

“Dawn loves to drive the tractors and check out all the equipment for our property and dog kennel business, so we were pretty fortunate to stumble on the Drive Green event when we were at the Puyallup Fair,” Ovesen says. “We’ve been doing business with Washington Tractor for several years, and had just purchased a John Deere 1023E tractor last year. We are very familiar with John Deere products and were looking to replace a mower when we went to the event.”

Ovesen says they were thrilled to learn they had won the Drive Green giveaway and have been looking forward to getting some more equipment for their property. “Since we already have one John Deere compact utility tractor, we are working with the dealer to swap out some pieces of the equipment for a lawn tractor and other attachments we need,” she adds. “We can’t wait to put them all to use.”
